About Architecture: Architect's Handbook Designing for People and Place

  Wall
Walls define space. They create rooms, support ceilings, and shape the spaces that people use every day. Walls can be straight or curved, thick or thin, tall or short. They can be made out of practically any material, including wood, paper, glass, and stone. They can be made to stay in place or to move.
