About Architecture: Architect's Handbook Designing for People and Place

  Interior Design
The interior of a house is much more than an arrangement of rooms and space. The design of a room appeals to many senses. Think about what your clients will see, touch, and experience in their house.

HINT
Blue is a calming color while red is fiery and passionate. Glass and metal lend a modern and industrial feel while wood and tile tend to be more traditional. Here are some things to keep in mind while designing your interiors:
  • Color, pattern, lighting (what you see = visual)
  • Surface, texture, shape (what you touch = tactile)
  • Rhythm, balance, mass (what you experience = spatial)
