Wright's ideas about houses kept evolving over the course of his life. As a young architect, he worked against the dark, boxy rooms typical in the Victorian age. As he matured, he drew on his opinions about nature and landscape to create houses that reflected their surroundings. He also began to design innovative houses that were spatially intriguing but affordable for the middle class.
